Funding Opportunities

The Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Pilot Project Grants
Goal: to catalyze the development of interdisciplinary research teams (also called "Translational Research Clusters") that address relevant health problems, and to assist them in the generation of preliminary data that support future applications for extramural funding. Approximately eight awards are anticipated. Funding is being provided by the College of Medicine, the Huck Institutes for the Life Sciences, the Social Science Research Institute, and the Institute for CyberScience.
Due dates:
February 23, 2009: letters of intent
March 23, 2009: proposal application submission

Fiscal Year 2009 Department of Defense Autism Research Program (ARP) announces two funding opportunities: (1) Clinical Trial Award, and (2) Idea Award.

Employment Opportunities

Part-time Research Technician, 20 hours per/week
The Language and Literacy Research Initiative
Primary responsibilities include collecting data; coding, scoring, and recording data; managing a database; forging connections with school districts, agencies, and preschools; recruiting participants; conducting phone screenings; and coordinating activities of research staff
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field, experience interacting with children, detail-oriented
Preferred: Experience in assessment of children
