Funding Opportunities

December 1, 2008 is the deadline for submission for the Africana Research Center Postdoctoral Fellows Program. The fellows program supports research that centers on, or is related to, Africa and the African Diaspora for the 2009-2010 academic year. Fellows will have no teaching or administrative responsibilities during the fellowship and each fellow will be matched with a mentor. More information...

November 5, 2008, the Distinguished Lecture Series on Network Science and Research Seminar presents Nathan Eagle of MIT and the Santa Fe Institute speaking on "Inference in Complex Social Systems: Insights and Applications from the Behavior of the Aggregate." November 6, 2008, "Bioethcs Without Borders" Seminar invites you to a seminar by Allen Hornblum and Edward "Yusef" Anthony, who will speak on "Prisons as Centers for Human Experimentation: Their Unending Attraction for Researchers," 9:30-1:30 a.m., 124 Sparks Building. Other Announcements

December 3, 2008 is the deadline for the NIH loan repayment program. The extramural LRP contracts are awarded for two-year periods and repay up to $35,000 of qualified educational debt annually for research focused on clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, and clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. An NIH grant or other NIH funding is not required to apply for or participate in the LRPs. Please visit http://www.lrp.nih.gov for more information and to access the online application.
