State College Food Bank
The SSRI Diversity Committee has set up a drop box in 605 Oswald Tower Conference Room for donations of food to the State College Food Bank.
The Food Bank's mission is to provide emergency food to those in need in the State College area and to support the network of food pantries in Centre County. Clients may go to the State College Food Bank up to six times in a twelve month period for emergency food. After six times, the client must be working with a case manager in another organization in order to continue to receive food help. Clients receive a large supply of groceries, sufficient for about a week. The size of the food order corresponds to the number of people in the household. In addition to non-perishable foods, every grocery order includes fresh milk, eggs, bread and frozen meat. People may exchange food items in their order for other items that they prefer.
Please review the Food Bank's guidelines for assistance in determining what can be accepted.

- Cooking oil and spray
- Coffee, tea, hot chocolate
In addition, we distribute donations of personal hygiene items (toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo, etc.), and baby items (baby food, diapers, formula, etc.).
Centre County Women's Resource Center
The SSRI Diversity Committee has set up a drop box in 605 Oswald Tower Conference Room for donations of old cell phones to the Centre County Women's Resource Center.
The Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) provides services for people who have experienced Domestic and or Sexual Violence. Counselor/Advocates are available 24 hours a day. There is no cost involved and all services are private. The CCWRC accepts old cell phones. They turn the phones in to get recycled and they receive money for the phones. Phones are also provided to victims of domestic violence to use in an emergency.
