Workshop Series: The Essential Elements of Successful Grantsmanship
The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI), working in collaboration with the colleges of Agriculture, Education, Health and Human Development, The Liberal Arts, and Medicine presents a workshop series each semester. The workshops are designed to assist social science faculty interested in obtaining external funding.

This workshop will provide you with:
(1.) An overview of the steps and time-line for writing an effective grant proposal, from idea generation to final grant submission.
(2.) An overview of PSU services and supports to assist faculty at each step in this process of grant proposal development, including:
- How to access financial support for proposal development and pilot studies.
- How to access consultation in areas of research design, statistical analyses, budgeting and management plans.
- Where to find research services on campus, including access to secondary data sets, computing services, data collection services, and geographic information analysis.
(3.) A description of the complementary support roles of the College research offices and the Social Science Research Institute (who does what).
