AESEDA and ARC Present Lecture by Dr. Anne C. Petersen

"Health and Development in Africa: What Are the Engines for Growth and Change?"

What is known about the most effect approaches to support development in Africa? Based on her experience in research, academic administration, government, and philanthropy, Petersen will discuss her view of approaches, structures, and systems to optimize assistance from the US for Africa. She uses models from her research on human development to consider global development assistance, with results distinctly different from that of most government agencies and philanthropies.

Dr. Anne C. Petersen is currently Deputy Director for the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, and Professor of Psychology, Stanford University. She is also Professor of the Global Philanthropy Alliance. Last year she was a Visiting Professor at the University of Minnesota.
