Nussbaum Named Fellow of International Communication Association
During its annual conference this May, the International Communication Association (ICA) named Jon Nussbaum, professor of communication arts and sciences, a fellow of the organization. The award is one of the highest honors in the field and Nussbaum is the first Penn State faculty member to earn this distinction. Most recently, Nussbaum's research has focused on the way older Americans interact with the health care system and the dynamic between the elderly and the adult children who often care for them. Last year that research earned him the title of Outstanding Health Communication Scholar from the association.
There are currently 46 living fellows in the association with 4,300 international members. Fellow status is awarded based on two criteria, a lifetime of distinguished scholarship within communication and significant service to the discipline of communication.
