Penn State Professor to Receive Award from the American Dietetic Association
University Park, Pa. -- The American Dietetic Association (ADA) has named Penny Kris-Etherton, distinguished professor of nutrition in the College of Health and Human Development, the 2007 recipient of the Marjorie Hulsizer Copher Award. This award recognizes significant and ongoing contributions to both the ADA and the field of nutrition. This honor will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the ADA's Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo in Philadelphia.
Through her involvement with the ADA, Kris-Etherton has made notable contributions in the areas of heart health, women's health and nutrition, and nutrition education. She served as the ADA representative to WOMENHEART, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, and as a member of the ADA's Cardiovascular Disease Task Force that developed Clinical Indicators for Quality Assurance.
