The Penn State Rural Interest Initiative
Aims and Objectives
- To identify the wide range of Penn State faculty, staff, students, centers, programs, and resources focused on rural issues;
- To increase Penn State faculty, staff and student awareness of and interest in working on rural issues;
- To develop collaborations across colleges, campuses, and disciplines that build on ongoing and create new rural research, programming, and outreach activities;
- To leverage collaborations across colleges, campuses, and disciplines to respond to future external rural funding opportunities; and
- To create a university-wide infrastructure that facilitates networking among faculty, staff, and students with rural research, educational, and outreach interests.
