SSRI offers a wide range of computing services including: equipment descriptions for proposals, computer set-up and networking, access to data archive holdings through SSRI computer accounts, and access to dynamic web servers (ColdFusion and SAS/IntrNet) and secure data servers.
Through SSRI, researchers have access to extensive Unix and Windows networks which offer cost-effective and flexible solutions for computationally intensive research and the analysis of large datasets. Specialized equipment is available, including multi-page duplex scanners, color printers, data projectors, sign-out laptops, and digital cameras.
SSRI researchers have access to a wide range of data storage formats including many legacy formats, such as 3480 and 9 track tape, as well as many of the current technologies, such as 100/250 zip disk, CD-R/W, DVD, 4mm, DLT I, II, III, & IV, and 8mm.
SSRI provides access to numberous statistical software packages and languages including: SAS, SPSS, Stata, FORTRAN, C, C++, Pascal, aML, IMSL, and StatTransfer. Packages such as Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, Photoshop, Illustrator, gimp, and Eudora are supported.
