Organization
The Social and Life Sciences Imaging Center is an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary unit. Its physical location, Chandlee Laboratory, contains research equipment and laboratories for human and animal experimentation. In addition, the Center also has strong connections to units across Penn State in which a broad range of imaging research is being conducted.
Human Imaging, Human Electrophysiology, and Animal Imaging can all be accommodated within the SLIC. The capabilities reside in one physical location, facilitating multimodal imaging studies.
A Steering Committee, composed of faculty members from the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Development, the Liberal Arts, and Medicine, as well as representatives from the Social Science Research Institute, Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, and the Center for Quantitative Imaging, provide strategic input, develop operating procedures and policies, and review internal seed grant proposals.
An Oversight Committee composed of the Senior Vice President for Research and the deans of the above six colleges provide executive input to the Social and Life Sciences Imaging Center.
