Graduate Certificate in Survey Methodology
An integrated, 13-credit certificate program for current graduate students at Penn State.
- Training in survey data collection techniques
- Training in the statistical analysis of survey data
- Internship/apprenticeship in survey research in practice
Penn State's Certificate in Survey Methodology enhances traditional graduate degree programs by providing students with an integrated program of study that goes beyond the training that is possible in a single department.
The three required courses in the Certificate Program provide students with competence in (a) the collection or survey data, (b) the analysis of survey data, along with (c) practical experience in survey research operations and administration. To supplement this common core, each student completes two electives. Students completing the common core plus electives earn the Certificate, which attests to a student's competence to complete independent research projects and to work as a highly skilled professional in academia, government, or the private sector.
