Sampling

Determining the right sample design and size for meeting a project's goals while operating within the constraints of a budget are often the biggest challenges to researchers. By providing you with an array of sample selection options including random samples, targeted list samples, area samples, stratified samples and specialized screening techniques to locate and interview special populations, the SRC ensures the appropriate sample for your project.

Our sample designs include:

  • Random digit dialing (RDD) samples - random, computer-generated telephone numbers, including both listed and unlisted numbers that are representative of your desired study area.
  • List samples - a list that is provided for the client to obtain a cost-effective sample. List samples are useful for reaching specific population subgroups, recruiting participants for larger studies, and supplementing RDD samples with over-samples of rare populations.
  • Area samples - sample lists from the national, regional, state, or city levels.
  • Weighting calculations - calculations that sample specific populations to bring samples to a representative state.
